A vibrant experience beyond our frontiers

Beatriz Delgado shares her impressions on her first international experience outside Spain. As an account manager, she considers crucial to learn to operate with such a great number of attendees and knowing the different needs of both clients and supplier in order to face a challenge like this.

How was your first experience outside Spain with an international client?

Being part of a whole managing team in another country has been indeed a challenge, but it is a worthy experience that helps you to grow professionally, and allows you know about other cultures and languages.

Which are the main aspects to be taken into account when organizing events outside your event division?

The most important skill capacity is empathy. As an event planner, you are constantly in contact with a great number of people of different origins, clients or suppliers. It is important to try and get in their shoes, understand their needs, and offer them the best personalized service. It is also crucial to establish a 100% personalized communication with them, and this is the reason why languages are crucial in our profession. We operate worldwide.

What is the company’s greatest added value in the field of event management?

Our main differentiating asset is our 360º, in-house capacity which allows us to have full control of any event plus improving our industry know-how thanks to our offices across Europe. This is becoming a central issue with respect to our international clients, as we are already providing a much more personalized service.

In your experience, so far, which are the main differences between national and international events?

The main difference has been the number of participants and event duration, which resulted in a rather complex logistic work.

However, broadly speaking, there are no differences between organizing an event at a national or international level in any of our offices. The internationalization of our company allow us to work globally, and every time is easier for us to hold any kind of event in any part of the world.

Which experiences do you bring with you? What have you learned?

The best experience without any doubt is to plan and manage such an impressive number of people, near 3,000, in a city that I have never visited before, while strengthening my knowledge and experience in this industry.
Managing a great event like this has been a personal challenge, my first multitudinous event. Already I feel strong and excited about the next challenges to come!
