beon. Worldwide amazes Spain with a fascinating visual parade at Revlon Style Masters Show 2018

This year Revlon contest Style Masters Show 2018 has celebrated its tenth edition with a dazzling entertainment that surpassed all expectations in terms of production, being one of the biggest international events in the industry.

Every year, thousands of professional stylists from all over the world attend the event that gathered 4000 last 4th of June at Fira Barcelona to meet the winner of the Global Style Master Award to best stylist, bestowed in the international ‘Style Masters Show’. One year more, beon. collaborated with Abile Corporate Events, in charge of the event management and logistics.

beon. designed and executed a show production never seen before in Spain, transforming the 33 x 18 meters catwalk into a massive projection prism.

Thee sides of this great prism, two of 33 meters and the 18-meter front with non-stop projections that moved upwards and downwards to the beat of the show. These prism sides were composed of 28 semi-transparent screens of 10×3 meters each, manufactured ad-hoc. These screens moved with multiple speed engines and were suspended with a truss system that was independent from the rest of the rigging structure. A fourth LED screen 12×7 meters was located in the back part of the stage and highlighted the depth effect of the projections. This LED wall included a door that was the Access entrance for both models and hosts. The floor of this huge prism, of a total surface of 500m2, displayed the projections of 6 projectors mounted on the ceiling.

The show mechanics focused in creating an optic illusion which allowed to project images in the foreground, followed by real movements and mise-en-scene. Thus, everything inside the prism was only visible from the seating area when light was projected inside.
These screens allowed two positions: down to frame the figure that received the projections, or upwards, 5 meters high, in an also projectable position. In different moments of the show, the interior of the catwalk was visible and other timed screens remained opaque to receive the projections.

A format that allowed extra installations and setting pieces to complete the inner stage designs and therefore combine different sceneries, boosting expectation and generating amazing moments.

This technological show had a 2-hour duration, non-stop. Almost 2000m2 of 4K content projections that flipped 0-100 with a single click. Altogether, more than 150 GB of data used simultaneously. An exclusive show that was enjoyed live by just an exclusive group of guests.

Innovative collections, inside and outside

The collections presented by the brand featured both haute couture and exclusive hairstyles, and both models and host could interact with the screens offering a greater sense of dynamism, innovation, and synergy.

Of these impressive collections, ‘Create Boldly’ inspired to a passionate, creative lifestyle, and involved a choreography of ballerinas interacting with the screens; ‘Eksperience’ portrayed a collection related to the underworld, so a big ocean opened to welcome the models on stage; ‘Education for future’ was an allegory of the hairstylist’s training and education which included a five-screen interactive presentation; and ‘Glam Squad’ was a real-time dance show combining lights and projections.

“ The show must go on”

Besides, this show and stage design featured a 60 meter-long photocall, called Hall of Fame, which displayed all the finalists’ hairstyles. Hollywood-adjacent, this area included a big red carpet, and a corporate photocall of 13 meter at the entrance of the venue in Fira Barcelona.

A stand for American Crew, specially produced for the occasion, featured 3 Harley Davidson motorcycles and models attired in the American Way of Life took pictures with both participants and attendees.

Models could get ready in a backstage that included 12 dressing rooms and a 300 square meter area to facilitate the work of their makeup artists and stylists.

Attendees were located in 3 rows of seats organized by countries. To enliven the show, countries flags and colorful confetti were all over the place.
