TED Talks, 18-minute events

TEDx events are inspired by original TED concept, with the ‘x’ standing for the local or independent character, and the root label indicating that the activity is subject to rules, certain policies, and licenses. A series of local, self-events organized by people gathering other people with different interests in order to share a ‘TED experience’ (live conferences, TED Talks, short speeches, unconferences, or workshops) under the spirit of showcasing ‘ideas worth spreading’.

These events are mainly known by their TED talks, speeches dealing with multiple topics such as science, art and design, politics, education, culture, business, global affairs, technology, development, or entertainment. These talks are available online for free where you can view them. Some of the most recognized speakers have been Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Sergey Brin, Larry Page, or Billy Graham.

TED is an acronym meaning Technology, Entertainment, and Design. Three big areas that are shaping the future together. A non-profit organization devoted to share ‘ideas worth spreading’. TED are annual events in which renowned entrepreneurs, thinkers, and business owners share their most passionate ideas in 18 minutes maximum. Attendees, of very varied professional profiles –executives, scientists, creatives, etc. – describe these conferences as ‘a four-day trip to the future’.

These talks have as a central objective to connect with attendees from the very beginning, accompanying them through an emotional journey, and provide them with an experience that meets the values and characteristics of the brand, generating ideas of strong social impact, and creating communities. This is how the new 18-minute events are.
